HUPPA Brand Labels

Every year, HUPPA develops its collections or creates something completely new and innovative in the field of fabrics, allowing us to stand out among competitors. As technology advances, so does our understanding of what each feature means in a specific product and how to interpret it.

The product label attached to our items helps guide you in making the right choice. And if you’re still unsure while browsing our online store, this article will help!

Reflective Details

One of the most important aspects of clothing design is safety. When creating our products, we ensure that the wearer remains visible in all weather conditions—whether in fog, darkness, or any other low-visibility situation.

HUPPA garments feature numerous reflective details—on edges, logos, tapes, and other design elements. Additionally, all jackets and snowsuits come with a special loop for attaching your own reflector, enhancing safety even further.

Breathable & Waterproof Fabric

Our fabrics are coated with a polyurethane membrane on the inner side, which prevents water from penetrating the outer material while allowing moisture inside the garment to evaporate.

HUPPA’s outerwear fabrics are waterproof, breathable, and windproof, with a water resistance level ranging from 5,000mm to 10,000mm.

Simply put, the waterproof rating indicates how much water (in millimeters) the fabric can withstand before it starts to seep through. A 10,000mm rating means the fabric remains waterproof in light rain and moderate snowfall, making it ideal for harsh winter conditions.

Taped Seams

To ensure maximum waterproofing, HUPPA seals the most critical seams using a special seam taping technology. This process prevents water from leaking through the stitching, especially in areas exposed to heavy rain.

The waterproof seam tape is applied to the inner side of the garment, making it invisible from the outside while enhancing protection against moisture.

Durability & Abrasion Resistance

Our fabrics are designed with high durability in mind. We source our materials from trusted manufacturers, carefully evaluating different fabric advantages and their suitability for Nordic climates.

HUPPA fabrics are engineered with special fiber technology, which increases their strength and resistance to wear and tear, extending the lifespan of our products.

HUPPATHERM – Advanced Insulation

HUPPATHERM is a next-generation, lightweight synthetic insulation material. Its microfiber structure prevents cold air from entering while retaining body heat within the fibers. This ensures exceptional warmth in our products.

How warm is HUPPA winter clothing?

  • 200g insulation: Suitable for temperatures as low as -20°C.
  • 300g insulation: Provides warmth down to -30°C.

Note: These temperature ratings are recommendations, as wind, rain, and individual cold tolerance all impact how warmth is perceived. Layering is key—longer coats provide better insulation than shorter jackets unless paired with matching pants or a snowsuit.

HUPPATEC – Heat-Reflecting Lining

The HUPPATEC lining is a heat-reflective fabric that enhances warmth by up to 20% compared to regular linings.

Tiny silver dots in the fabric reflect body heat back towards the wearer, trapping warmth between the body and the lining. At the same time, it allows moisture to escape, preventing excess dampness inside the garment.

DOWN – Natural Insulation for Extreme Cold

HUPPA down-filled garments are designed for sub-zero temperatures (-5°C and colder). Down creates air pockets that trap warmth inside the clothing.

We use high-quality goose and duck down, which is enclosed in special down-proof compartments to prevent leakage through the outer fabric.

With HUPPA, you can confidently choose the right outerwear for any weather condition!
