In the dynamic world of fashion, each design narrates a story and offers a glimpse into its creator’s vision. This season, we explore the creative process behind HUPPA’s standout print, the Euphoria pattern, crafted by an estonian artist Estookin. Known for her distinctive approach to art and design, Estookin shares the inspiration behind this captivating print and reflects on the connections between clothing, self-expression and mood.
Layers. When thinking about layers, there’s a sense of dimensionality, where each layer contributes to an overall system or structure. In nature, a leaf has layers where each layer has a specific function. From the epidermis layer to photosynthetic tissues inside. When those layers are combined, they create something greater than the sum of their parts. In clothing, layering is both a functional and artistic choice. Layers of fabric can create varying degrees of opacity, texture or structure. So in this season’s print I was inspired by combining together different layers of paint to create a dynamic art piece to put use as a pattern.

Clothing is a versatile and accessible tool for self-expression that enables people to visually craft their identity on their own terms. In both personal and professional contexts, I usually try to stay true to myself. When dealing with first impressions, I try to wear something that reflects my personality and who I am. In other words, I mostly wear black clothing. I do focus on simplicity and quality materials. I use it to communicate my straightforward yet easy-going character.
In the case of dressing up, I am usually more bold to grab attention. I mix together different textures like suede and leather. There is also fun in playing with daring silhouettes, like puffy trousers with a slim top. Itis also important to adapt when it comes to a specific audience. In that case it is good to find a middle ground of what clothing is appropriate for a specific setting while also feeling comfortable with yourself.
Absolutely. Clothing serves as a form of non-verbal communication. People often choose clothing based on how they feel or want to feel. So yes. I am more withdrawn and timid when I don’t feel comfortable in my outfit. In the opposite case, I am much more confident and empowered while dressing true to myself. It’s very important for me to feel “right” and in sync with myself when choosing my attire. Even if I am just by myself the whole day.
